Glass Cleaner for Cleaning Carpet?
I discovered a little-known trade secret from Meineke that plain old glass cleaner can make a great carpet and upholstery cleaner as well.
They recommend soaking the stain in the cleaning solution and then blotting it with a towel after 5 minutes. Since it is not a soap, it doesn’t leave behind a foamy residue.
Can Hair Spray Clean Car Carpet?
Cheap Hair spray has also been shown to work at removing ink stains.
Saturate the marks and let sit for a few minutes to let the hair spray work its magic. Then rinse with water (a wet/dry shop vac can be handy for this task).
Homemade Carpet Spot Cleaner… for Cars?
Charlene at MyFrugalAdventures.com has an all-natural homemade remedy similar to the glass cleaning solution we mentioned above.
You simply combine white vinegar and dish soap with water and spray on the carpet or upholstery. (The trick can be as simple as using a little elbow grease.)
She also recommends sprinkling baking soda on the area to be cleaned the night before if you want a deodorizer as well.
3 Tricks for Removing Tough Carpet Stains

Use the same cleaning method on the rubber as you do as the carpets. Use a stiff bristled brush for extra scrubbing power if you need it. Here’s a tip that I actually got off of eBay. When done, add a layer of liquid shoe wax to the rubber mat to help protect it and prevent future dirt from sticking.
