Do you want a no-rinse car wash that also has a protective ceramic coating? Shine Armor Waterless Wash claims to clean, polish, seal and protect your vehicle in a 2-step process.
Does Shine Armor Fortify Quick Coat Really Work?
At first glance, this infomercial product seems too good to be true. In other words, Shine Armor promises several benefits for an enticingly-low price for their product.
I mean, can you actually get a $500 ceramic coating on your car – as a spray-on treatment for $20?
Is it possible to wash and seal your car in a single step – without even buffing it?
And can an average car owner actually achieve a showroom finish on their vehicle – the first time they use this waterless car wash?
As an average car owner myself, I want a car wash that’s fast and easy to use, yet effective. In addition, I don’t want to over-pay for a product, especially if it produces average results.
Shine Armor Waterless Car Wash Video Review:
Like many other waterless car wash sprays, Fortify Quick Coat enables you to clean your car’s finish without using water. And yes, it adds a hydrophobic (water repellent) top coat as it cleans your vehicle. You can watch the video review here.
As a result, you can clean and seal your car in less time (and with less effort). Simply apply the spray and wipe it off with a microfiber towel.
Having said that, I do have some tips to get the best results when using polymer-based products. These can make a big impact on your car’s finish.
How to Get Better Waterless Wash Results:
1. Air Temperature: First of all, I find that waterless wash products work best when applied on a 60-70 degree day. This semi-warm air temperature allows the solution to evaporate as you work with it, but not too quickly to leave streak marks.
2. Microfiber Towels: Second, make sure that you use clean microfiber cloths. Use one cloth to apply the waterless wash and a second one to rub away any residue. In addition, you want to wash microfiber towels the right way (so they don’t accumulate lint or lose their “magnetic” lifting abilities).
Ceramic Wax Coating VS Carnauba Car Wax:
Shine Armor states that their waterless wash contains a SiO2 ceramic coating/wax. I don’t know exactly what that is, since I wasn’t able to find a list of ingredients.
However, I do know that it contains silicon dioxide (SiO2), which increases your car’s shine while it repels dirt and dust. In other words, your vehicle stays cleaner for longer.
When Shine Armor talks about their “advanced 3-in-1 ceramic coating”, that’s what they’re referring to. (Its ability to wash, shine and protect.)
Compared to carnauba wax, this product doesn’t require buffing. Therefore, you can clean your car much faster and more easily.
Note: Fortify Quick Coat does work on plastic or leather, so you can use it on your car’s interior. (You can also apply it to trim, glass, metal, wheels or tires.) However, it does not work on the carpets or upholstery.
Professional Automotive Ceramic Coating VS Spray-on Product:
Although this product is labeled as a ceramic coating, it doesn’t compare equally to a ceramic coating done by a detailing professional. Furthermore, these finishes are not permanent, nor do they prevent scratches (common myths).
On the other hand, Shine Armor can fill in small imperfections in your car’s top coat. As a result, it can provide long-lasting protection and shine when compared to a regular car wash or even wax.

In Summary, Shine Armor’s Fortify Quick Coat costs significantly more than other waterless car wash products. However, it includes the additional ceramic coating, which may add an extra level of protection for your vehicle.
As a result, you may not need to wash your car as often, allowing the product to last longer. In either case, it will definitely save you money compared to visiting your local car wash. =)
